1.
The storm of time Rending my wings Turned back to see The terror of history Stranded in time As flesh turns to rust Ruins on all sides Clockwork genocide Winds from paradise A thousand rebirths Statues and stones Mountains of bones Dragged backwards from memory Carried on through history I bring no deliverance I was sent to witness You speak of progress? The birth of a nation? All human history’s just escalation Time’s running out, these empires won’t last And hell awaits when you run out of past Forced open wings, unwilling omen Of a future, unseen, but tragically certain This storm from heaven, it leaves only wreckage And mass graves and ashes where this angel passes
2.
You read the victor’s history, you gave killers your ears And the thousand ghosts and silent ones, you never tried to hear You learned just what they needed, to build power’s charade And the thousand truths we witnessed fill a thousand more mass graves You have nothing left to offer but yet more genocide Yet more years of racist lies, that more guns justify The chains, slaves and the diamonds are your bloodline’s shame The graves in the dirt hold all nations to blame You say we hurt your heritage by asking you to share? They desecrate our memories when they kill us without care Where is your fabled progress? You still bear the marks of Cain Where is your love of history when it’s happening again? All of your pride is just your wealth and white face There’s no honour in blood when invent your race You wrote all the stories but never hid the evidence And some of us remember and demand your penitence Heritage is for the dead When all of your heroes are rotting in hell And all that’s under your crown is a broken old skull When every last statue is drowned in the docks Then jump in and join them. We’ve still not forgot
3.
The past is a predator No sleep, no dreams Unseen attacker Fight flight or freeze? On guard, no rest No fucking peace Walking empty streets You’re prey again Hands, throat, can’t breathe Poised for an attack But years have passed and It’s already happened The memories you repressed, something worse was born A cold and starving predator from the corpses of your thoughts A terror in your history, something dead and rotten Rising from the black earth of the trauma you’ve forgotten How can you defend yourself from something you can’t see? A walker in the darkness of the life you didn’t lead Something fell is rising- a devourer to the last A stalker in the nightmares, a shadow from the past Your inner eye is blinded There’s something in the deep They tell you these are nightmares So why can you not sleep? And if the past is dead What is living there? What is this hungry shadow where memories once were? What have you forgotten?
